The Avondale Japanese Kaizu Garden lies within Friendship Park. Consisting of a wooden gazebo and several stone pagodas, jutting out into a park lake, they were given as a gift about 10 years ago. I have been unable to find out online when they were given. The city does not have much information online about them. This gift has been much vandalized over time, enough that the city council has considered options in the past to protect them from further harm. Recently a local artist painted murals nearby to honor the sister city of Kaizu. Commissioned by the Avondale Municipal Art Committee, Goodyear artist Edward Buonvecchio painted scenery of the Avondale Japanese Kaizu Garden element at the park.
