This statue of St. Therese of Lisieux is located in church courtyard. St. Therese "The Little Flower" is the Patron of Missions. She only lived 24 years (1873 - 1897). Trying to become a Carmelite at age 14, she was denied, even taking her plea to Pope Leo XIII. At age 15 she was givin permission. She was appointed to assist the novice mistress. She died of tuberculosis. Having always wanted to become a mission, after Sainthood, she was named the heavenly patroness of all foreign missions.
