To access the boat launch at the Des Plaines Fish & Wildlife Area, visitors must cross this short stretch of road. The waterbody is the Kankakee River Cut-Off - a former channel connecting the Des Plaines River to the Kankakee River by bypassing their confluence forming the Illinois River.
