This sundial shows a blue grouse in the forground and mountains in the background. It is a beautiful painting but not as good a sundial. The shadow from the light fixture above has cast a shadow on the dial most of the times I have seen it.
The motto is in the local patois, "Lou Sourey se levo per tutches". I think it translates as "Here the sun rises every day" or "Here the sun prays for everyone"
