Built in 1871, this old wooden building originally was built as the Methodist Church. It was constructed on land donated by Mr C McCall. When it became too small, in 1898 a new church was built, and the building was then used by the Oddfellows as their hall. On 19th March 1986 it was placed with the New Zealand Historic Places Trust as a Category II. It is now used as a private residence.
