SA0093 - USGS 936, Washington - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

This elevation mark is located in the NW corner of the county courthouse lawn in Walla Walla, Washington. The cap is set in a square concrete post rising about 14 inches above the ground. The monument is about 40 feet east of the centerline of 6th Ave. and about 100 feet south of the centerline of Main St. The mark was set by the U.S. Geological Survey in 1915 and was marked 936, the elevation.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1964 IN WALLA WALLA. AT WALLA WALLA IN THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE COUNTY COURTHOUSE LAWN, 98 FEET SOUTH OF MAIN STREET AND 40 FEET EAST OF THE CENTER OF 6TH AVENUE. A U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY STANDARD CAP RIVETED ON THE TOP OF A 3 1/2-INCH IRON PIPE SET IN A SQUARE CONCRETE MONUMENT THAT PROJECTS 14 INCHES.
