Wat Phra Phutthabat (WM8HH1) is one of the most important Wats in Thailand. This importance is due to the fact that it houses and protects a Buddha Footprint. The name of the Wat translates as "Temple of Buddha's footprint"

Due to the importance of the Wat to Buddhism, it has a correspondingly large number of bells! Just outside the carpark entrance to the Wat you will see dozens (I did not count them) of bells in two lines. These bells are at shoulder height and are there to be rung by worshippers in order to "make merit". If you do chose to ring the bells when you visit, a donation is always appreciated.
