The Community Bible Church is considered to be one of the oldest Baptist congregation in the State of Washington. The congregation was chartered in July 1872 as the First Baptist Church. The first church was a small wooden structure which was dedicated in September 1877. The current brick Oueen Anne style church building was constructed in 1892. In 1962, the church withdrew from the American Baptist Association and joined the Conservative Baptist Association. The name of the church was changed to the Community Bible Church by a vote of the congregation in 1992.
