The Field family genealogy at (visit link) tells us that Homer Howard Field moved to Council Bluffs in 1856. He was a carpenter by trade and a musician by profession.

In 1901 he lived at 150 Park avenue with his family that included Emma Louisa Cavin, who was married to Thomas Cavin.

The house passed to Emma and Thomas when Homer passed away.
