Chatuchak Bus Terminal—Bangkok, Thailand. - Bus Stations on Waymarking.com

There are three major bus terminals in Bangkok, those which deal with country wide travel. These are Sai Tai (WM7WMG, southern routes), Ekami (WM7NGR, eastern routes), and last, but certainly not the least, Chakuchak (to use its official name), which deals with travel to the north and north east of Thailand.

The Chakuchak terminal is popularly known as 'Mor Chit', and also as 'The Mighty Mor Chit'. (Mor Chit is the surrounding suburb—it is also far more easily pronounced by westerners than 'Chat-u-chak', which is not really how the Thai words sounds. I suggest you say 'Mor Chit' to a Thai, if you want to identify this terminal). The 'Mighty' comes from the nature of the terminal. It is big, more than big, it is huge. In surface area I estimate (including bus parking and repair areas) the terminal is 1km x 0.5km.

The main building of the terminal is an arc shaped structure, three stories high. This structure is also big, with large waiting rooms, large numbers of ticket booths, large hallways, large numbers of people, large numbers of shops. Large! Behind and in front of this main building, buses embark and disembark passengers, and taxi drivers, tuk tuks, 'motor cycle taxi drivers', and even pedestrians, come and go.

The clientele Chatuchak deals with are predominantly Thai nationals from the north of the Kingdom. These people come to Bangkok to work and to live, and return home, and are visited by their families and friends. In my experience this terminal is busy 24/7.
