Der Schornstein wurde im Jahre 2005 errichtet und hat eine Höhe von 16 m. Die 6 Vorläufer befinden sich in Schweden, Südkorea, Finnland und Deutschland. Jeder Schornstein ist 1 m höher als der Vorgänger. Die anderen 6 Schornsteine wurden zwischen den Jahren 1992 bis 2001 errichtet. Der erste Schornstein steht in Stockholmer Moderna Museet und ist 10 Meter hoch.
Der siebte Schornstein in Buxtehude gehört zur Ausstellung "A Whiter Shade of Pale – Kunst aus den Nordischen Ländern an der Unterelbe" vom Künstler Jan Svenungsson.
