Mansfield, PA is named for Asa Mann who settled the area from Rhode Island. He cleared a large tract of land and divided it into building lots. People began to call it Mann's Field, now Mansfield. This town is also known for Mansfield University. Once a Normal School for Teachers, they now have fields for just about anything. They are still well known for their teachers, and aslo are very well known for their musicians.
