Under the present church are the ruins of one of the oldest churches of Switzerland. It also was a bishop's residence, the name of one of them is reported, we know of a bishop Jusitinianus in the 4th century.
The location is in a cavern accessible from a footway along the Rhine.
There is a small exhibition with artifacts and some information tables about early Christianity amidst the ruins of the church and parts of the Norther wall of the Castrum.
