Located just north of Eastpointe City Hall.
Plaque reads as follows "THIS MEMORIAL IS IN HONOR AND MEMORY OF THOSE WHO SERVED THEIR COUNTRY IN TIME OF PEACE AND WAR DEDICATED NOV. 11, 1959 CITY OF EAST DETROIT".
This is one of many memorials on the complex grounds all within 50 feet of one another. There is a World War II memorial, a Vietnam War memorial, a Korean War memorial, a Desert Shield War memorial, a Iraq War memorial and a citizens memorial to former Mayor William A. Mihelich.
This memorial was one of the first memorials the City of East Detroit (now Eastpointe) ever put out. It is over 50 years old.
