This little park is a lovely little spot
To sit and contemplate, or stroll around the walk
Just there off the road, not a big display
But worth a little linger as you go along your way.
Small park that features the statue "Coming Home" and memorial plaques to all services, as well as a couple specific theatres (such as "In Recognition of the Soldiers of the 49th Armored Division Texas Army National Guard Who Served in Bosnia from March to October 2000")
not much of a web presence, but here are a couple links:

Veterans Memorial Park, located on FM 1431, is dedicated to the men and women who have served our country. A reflective memorial features a bronze statue of a young soldier entitled “Going Home” sculpted by Jonestown resident Jim Thomas. This soldier who has served his country, waits in anticipation of his ride to return home to his loved ones. Along with the memorial, this park also features a beautiful picnic area under the canopy of stately oak trees.

Date of dedication: Spring of 2003

Description of Memorial: Lovely little park with a winding path, seated uniformed soldier sculpture, and several granite pillars with plaques. The sort of thing you zip by while heading out FM1431 to Lago Vista and beyond without really thinking.
Someone put a geocache here -- and I'm grateful.
