Randwick Archery Club had the last official shoot at north street after 56 years of it being our home
(June the 10th 2006). Some 40 plus archers from around the district attended the event which was followed by a barbecue luncheon/afternoon tea; a sad occasion, but an enjoyable day for those attending.
After all of those years at North Street the club has been forced to move and will now be located very close to where the club first started. the new grounds are situated at the northern end, on the eastern side of Randwick Road, Moera, Lower Hutt.
The area is bounded by two railway lines and the ramp of Randwick Road over one of the railway lines, so we will have exposure to the public. A more secure tenure is likely as underground are a high pressure gas supply line, high voltage cable and the water supply line for Wellington, so future "development" is not likely. The club feels that it can have a regular range as well as a separate short range for beginners.
