This War Memorial was erected by the citizens and American Legion Post of Chapin, Illinois.
It is in the center of town, next to the American Legion Post 878.
It is in good shape and kept and maintained by the American Legion as well as the citizens of the town.
It is current up to Desert Storm.

Description of Memorial: The memorial is located in the center of town in a small park. The park has a post office on the east side, an American Legion on the west side, with a stage located on the north side.
The park is used for holiday gatherings, as well as just a central place in town to gather and visit for awhile.
