The 'Sadao' crossing (the Thai side name) is the main crossing point between Thailand and Malaysia. Both business and tourism bring huge numbers of people and vehicles through during the day, and more so on the weekend.

The Thai side is a dozen or so roads/lanes, with numerous checkpoints, with lines of people, cars and trucks slowly wending their way through. The Malaysian side is a single building (which does not permit photographs of its interior). Approximately one kilometre of busy road and one Malaysian army post separate the two immigration points.

Both sides have a full range of facilities. The Thai side directly abuts a small town (Sadao), which has grown to serve the needs of the transients passing through. If you find you need to visit this checkpoint, avoid the weekend, very busy.
