This is one of two signs on the White Horse Pike which welcomes travelers to this Pinelands community. Why is it the blueberry capital? Due to its proximity to the Pine Barrens, the soil is largely sandy, making it ideal for growing blueberries.

This sign is on the Eastbound side of Route 30 (White Horse Pike) and marks the northwestern most boundary of the town. The billboard can be seen by those traveling to Atlantic City. It is a simple, large billboard, in some scrub-grass, 5 feet from the asphalt, located at 704 White Horse Pike. There are blueberries on the sign as well. There is another sign similar to this which is much nicer, on the opposite side of the road, 3.22 miles away.

I searched "The Blueberry Capital of the World" and several websites acknowledged this agricultural slogan to be accurate, including Wikipedia. I have walked around in the Pine Barrens in this town geocaching and have always come across wild blueberry plants pretty much everywhere.
