Cockermouth town is built around the confluence of the Cocker and Derwent rivers. Over the years, mills have used the river for power.

Bank's is a traditional ironmongers, with Georgian shop frontage.

This very small plaque is on the right hand side of the door way, visible to all passers by, marking the level the flood waters reached. The plaque is quite small, about 10 x 6 centimetres.
