Longsleddale parishioners erected a small sundial pedestal to remember their fallen.

Longsleddale is a small valley in the east of the English Lake District. There were about 25 farms in the valley at the time of the First Great War.

The memorial is a sandstone pedestal with a small sundial on top. The sundial is near the south porch.

On the north face it reads.
"IN GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THE MEN FROM THIS PARISH WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918"
On the square base are the names of the fallen, in WW1.
George Cragg, Robert Gilpin, Roger Wilson

On the East Face is written.
ALSO THOSE
WHO FELL
IN THE
SECOND
GREAT WAR
1939-1945

and below the names of those who fell during WW2
George Atkinson, Raymond Alnwick, Arnold Bell
