Mozart I is a wire sculpture in a Grassy meadow, south of Meyer Library at
Stanford University. The sculpture has two vertical tubes and an angled tube on the ground as supports. There is a "spider-web" of cables between these three supports going in many different directions. Some of the cables have tubes threaded onto them, which form aerial supports.
The sculpture was funded with a National Endowment for the Arts, Art in Public Places grant of $35,000 given in 1981 to Stanford University.
There is a plaque on the ground near the sculpture that reads:
