The Kimiwan Bird Walk and Interpretive Centre is recognized as being one of the leading places in Alberta to view waterfowl and birds. With over 233 birds found within 15 km of Kimiwan Lake on the north side of McLennan, Alberta.

"The Kimiwan Birdwalk and Interpretive Centre located within the town on the south shore of Kimiwan Lake and adjacent to Highway 2, is a provincially recognized natural habitat. Over 200 species of birds make McLennan their nesting spot each year.
McLennan is home to the largest concentration of shorebirds and waterfowl in Northern Alberta. This makes the Birdwalk a must see for birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts. The Kimiwan Birdwalk and Interpretive Centre are open from May to September. It has 300 meters of paths and woooden walkways that enable the visitors to enjoy birs and other wildlife species in their natural habitat."
