These ruins date from about 1200 and are some of the oldest in the canyon.

These ruins are the only ones in the canyon you can visit without a Navajo guide, but it means hiking a long, steep, but spectacular trail if you forego the guide.
The ruins are on two separate levels, and are also accompanied by several pictograph panels. The cliff face they are set in is over 500 feet high at this point.
You are not permitted to walk within the ruins, as a high fence keeps you a good ways back. Try to visit in the later afternoon, as at other times of the day the ruins are not as well illuminated.
