The plaque has an interesting inscription in a peculiar language:

'In the yere of ovre Lord 1570 thes arches wer borne downe by the waters extremytie. In the yere of ovre Lord 1571 they were builded agayn with lyme and stonne. Thanks be to God.'

The view from the bridge looks over the valley and River Nene.
