While the history of every community is important so is the future of every community. Hartford is located just minutes west of the largest city in South Dakota and truly on the edge of everything. On the edge of being one of the next most progressive communities in either Minnehaha or Lincoln counties. On the edge of progressive business and residential growth and on the edge of everything hat other progressive communities offer.
A beautiful 18-hole golf course, an excellent school system that excels in both academics and sports, a very nice city park with new playground equipment to go along with its swimming pool, ball diamonds, skateboard park, picnic shelters, and walking trail. Planning committees are formed for much more to offer including a Bike/Recreation Trail, a new Sports Complex, and a new Fire Department/City Hall. All hopefully in the not too distant future. Be it professional or general type of businesses, residential development areas, churches or recreation, Hartford has what you need and will hopefully soon offer all the things you want. A progressive outlook from a community with a proud past and a very promising future. A community on the edge of I-90 and on the edge of everything! Stop and visit or stop and stay. You will like what Hartford has to offer and the things yet to come!
