Mt Schank is an volcano that erupted as recently as 5000 years ago.
It has a steep sided near perfectly formed inverse cone crater.
Excellent views with Port MacDonnell, Mount Gambier, Lake Bonney windfarm and Mount Richmond.
The well formed track to the summit is rather steep and steals you breath away.
Well worth the visit & quite impressive to look at on google earth.
Only the footings of the beacon remain.
