The current station was started in 1917, although it was not completed until 1923 because World War I caused construction to halt for several years. During its heyday, the depot had nine railroads operating.

Today the station houses several restaurants and a condo complex. There are plans to bring Amtrak back to the station, construct a light rail extension, and build high speed rail. Here is a selection of information about the depot on the web:
