The shrine was built in 1930 on the site of an old Indian castle. It was here that the first martyrs of North America were killed. Its quite an amazing building that can hold up to 6,000 people. The 8 entrances represent each of the 8 North American saints. The grounds surrounding the building is loaded with crosses, statues and 2 museums. The architecture on this building alone is worth the trip. Each entrance has a life sized statue of the martyrs above the door. Inside in the center is a large display and on the ceiling is a large mural. Happy Waymarking, Swizzle & Family
