The image for Lincoln, Nebraska, features a pumpkin, a jar of strawberry jam, and a raggedy-ann type doll, all of which have won first prize ribbons at the state fair.
This illustrates the midwestern nature of the state, and the values of "home-grown" and down to earth.
Lincoln is the state capitol and the home of the University of Nebraska. Although it is a city of over 250,000, Lincoln likes to portray its friendly side.
Some well-known Lincoln people include Dick Cavett and Johnny Carson, as well as Amy Sue Cooper, Playboy's Cyber Girl of the Year, 2005.
The annual state fair portrayed in this graphic will actually be moving to Grand Island, about 100 miles west of Lincoln, in 2010.
