It is not so easy to find a natural observation point which is offering good vista over Chinese metropolis Beijing. Beijing itself is mostly flat, only very small artificial hills you can find in Summer Palace area and in park close to the Forbidden City. But on the southwest borders of the metropolitan area you can visit hilly landscape where is located the famous Fragrant Hills Park. And here, after short hike from the main entrance gate, you can find several spots offernig magnificent vistas over Beijing - our coordinates assigns one of them, moreover not so crowded by Beijing citizens. The best for visit are late autumn or winter months, where city is not so much covered by heavy smog and dust from Gobi desert combined with haze from high air humidity. It's rare situation, but if you will be lucky, you will be rewarded by really good views...
The Fragrant Hills Park is located 20 kilometers southwest of Beijing's downtown. Park is renowned for its imperial garden style and covers an area of 160 hectars.
