The Red Trail in Jefferson Memorial Forest's Horine Section takes hikers down into two deep valleys. At the bottom of one valley hikers have to walk through the creek bed, or if water is flowing, step on rocks to keep from getting wet. At the bottom of the other valley is this bridge. It consists simply of two logs that have the upper surface shaved flat and this graded to improve traction.

Of course if water is flowing through the creek bed then the bridge is a welcome site. However, from which direction you approach this bridge, it also means that you are now starting a tough climb back up.
Trail Name: Red Trail

Approximate Length of Bridge: 10

Obstacle: Creek bed at bottom of valley

Trail Type: Earthen/Packed Dirt
