To find this sign head north on Rt.30 out of Fonda and into Johnstown, take a left on Rt.29 and follow this down to N. williams St. Turn right onto N. Williams and look for W.Green St. Your second right. The sign is towards the end of the cemetery by the Drumm House.
The first church was built in 1760 on the present Drumm House/Colonial Cemetery Property. The congregation grew rather quickly and this church was demolished in 1771 to make way for the second, larger church. This church was destroyed by fire in 1836 and was last rebuilt in 1837. The second church was the home of Sir William Johnson's tomb, beneath the alter. After the fire the new church was turned to face more to the east and Sir William was left out in the cold. They later re-discovered his grave and placed a memorial on it. Happy Waymarking, Swizzle & Family
