The building was originally a turn of the century retail store, turned Oddfellows hall, when in 1939 the Bond Theatre moved in. In the 1970's the building was in need of repair. Rather than going through the expense, the theatre was closed. In later years, the building became an an antique mall. Finally, the building did go through the needed remodel and repairs and opened up under the current name of Globe.
