Sept. 2009: The Prayer Chapel at York College is a completely renovated structure that was originally built by the St. Paul Lutheran Church congregation in rural York County about 7 miles northeast of York. The church closed in 1965, and the building slowly deteriorated.

Descendants of St. Paul Lutheran Church members and York College collaborated to move the building and restore it.

It is open for public viewing and private meditation. A small museum alcove contains an interactive display that includes the history of St. Paul Lutheran Church, the story of the moving and restoration, and the stories of major contributors to the overall project.

This long description will evolve and expand as waymarks for the St. Paul Cemetery at the original church site, and for St. Paul Lutheran Church as a former Lutheran Church structure are composed and submitted.
