Cottonwood Pass is on Chaffee County Road 306. This is a paved road that extends west from the only stoplight in Buena Vista, Colorado to the top of the pass. There is a dirt road that continues down the west side of the pass to Taylor Park Reservoir and eventually to Gunnison, Colorado.
