617 Grant Avenue, which housed HOLCOMB'S HATCHERY in 1949, was originally built in 1917 as the DAY AND NIGHT GARAGE, by Henry C. Graves. A series of automobile dealerships in the building were followed by the hatcheries; the Holcomb Hatchery and later Ellis Hatchery. Ellis Hatchery closed in 1993; Black's Leather occupied the building for a couple of years, and in 1996 it was renovated for the current law firm occupants.
