This is the fifth of 12 benchmarks on Griffin Rd., all collinear, on a due east course directly to Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood Int'l Airport. Most of them are FL D.O.T., but a few are from local municipalities & utility services, all in 6.47 miles.

This benchmark is 6.5 feet from the curb/street. To the right of it is a tall metal fence. It is about 3.5 feet from that. It is set in the sidewalk. It is approximately 100 feet or so east of a major intersection, S.W. 64th Street and Route 818, Griffin Road. It is exactly 5.70 miles from the airport. There is a group of these exact benchmarks bearing the "C series" designation.
What do you do when you have a 3 hour, 7 mile walk to the airport in the middle of the night from 11:30 PM to 2:30 AM? Why, look for and collect benchmarks of course, and what a collection I found! I hit the mother load. It seemed every 1/2 mile or so I struck paydirt. ALL of the benchmarks in this "C" series are along the sidewalk, on the east bound (south side) side of this road which leads to the airport. This one is almost in the center of the walkway, but not quite, it leans a little further away from the street.
