Westover Manor is a large, picturesque mansion designed in a hybrid Jacobethan Revival/Norman style. It is a long, irregularly-shaped, 2-story masonry residence facing east on Westover Road. It rests on a pier and beam foundation. Like other Medieval Revival houses, Westover Manor was designed to look as if it had grown in stages over the years. The entrance front of the house remains substantially as built, but the rear reflects several distinct building campaigns: the nucleus of that facade dates from 1929-30, the southmost gable and the terrace room to the north were constructed in 1936, while the dining room ell and the garage date from 1969, when the south wing was demolished. The original (east) facade features a central pavilion rising a full two stories. The northern section provides an entrance tower dominated by a projecting gable end entrance porch, brick tower with stone quoining, and a bellcast pyramidal roof. The rear (west) facade of the house is even more irregular than the east. This facade is in a linear plan with the modern dining room west wing forming a slight rear extension. The north and south facades of the house are relatively narrow. The north end consists largely of transomed floor- length windows, while the south - the site of the extensive 1936 additions demolished in 1969 - has been bricked to blend with the rest of the ground floor, and features a half- timbered lateral gable at the second floor level.

To help market the development, the developers. Fort Worth investor Lloyd McKee and architect Wyatt C. Hedrick, teamed up with the city's leading newspaper, the Fort Worth Star- Telegram, in 1929 to build the prototypical Westover Hills mansion in an arrangement that would hopefully sell both newspapers and lots. Accordingly, McKee and Hedrick and their favored builder, A. Clayton Luther, recently of Tampa, Florida, contracted with Florida architect Victor Marr Curtis to construct the Westover Hills flagship house.

The grounds of Westover Manor contain a variety of Contributing structures and site features. These include substantial terraces just west of the house, built about 1933; the 1935 swimming pool, in the shape an elongated quatrefoil; the 1story brick servants quarters constructed in 1936 west of the pool; and an elaborate dam/cascade/pond built in 1933 along Spring Creek at the western boundary of the property.
