Single leaf through truss with overhead counterweight type bridge. (Bascule type) Very unique. The bridge was probabally retired in the late 50's or early 60.
The Locks/Bayou Plaquemine here waterway was retired in the late 1950's for a new, larger and more straight access to the GICWW about 15 miles north, at the Port Allen Locks across from Baton Rouge, LA here.
Union Pacific still uses railroad.
