The brick, classical style Carnegie Library was dedicated in September 1910. Through a contract with Wasco County, the building became the Dalles City-Wasco County Library in 1912 and continued in this capacity until 1966 when a new library opened. The Dalles Art Club took over the building and converted it to The Dalles Art Center, which it continues to be today.
