This is a road side swimming hole on the Lumber River. It is a place where the Lumber River almost kisses the road. It is literally 20 feet to the water's edge from the road.

On a hot summer day, you will always fins cares lined up along the roadside to take a dip in the cold tea colored water. The actual opening in the brush is only about 30 feet wide and the river as noted above is 20 feet from road's edge. Scramble down a small embankment and wet your toes. To the left one can swing to a makeshift ladder and climb up to a rope swing. While the water is shallow at the entry area, it rapidly drops off to well over 8 feet in places. With all good times a word of caution is necessary. This is a remote location. There is no life guard on duty. Swim but stay safe.
