Sangie Cemetery is located behind Gracepoint Baptist Church on the corner of Walnut Grove Road and Sanga Road in Cordova, Tn. It dates to the late 1870s.

Near the corner of Walnut Grove Road (formerly Raleigh-LaGrange Road) and Sanga Road, the cemetery is very old. In 1877 the New Hope Baptist church was organized and built. It is said to be the inspiration of the settling of the community surrounding it which is
now Cordova. Sangie Cemetery was established a short while thereafter and is still in use.
The cemetery was created by deed in 1878 by a conveyance from Mr W.W. Cauada to the "white population of the Sangie Neighborhood." This cemetery has always been used as a free burying ground for the section in which it lies.
As of 2004 there were 100 burials. Among those are veterans of the Civil War, World Wars I & II. There is an interesting tombstone for Emorace Hugh Lurry. His date of birth is November 9, 1878 and date of death is December 27, 1899. It states he was a member of the
U.S. V Infantry and below that it has "Remember the Maine" and the date February 15, 1898.
The current church on the land is Gracepoint Baptist Church and before that it was Walnut Grove Baptist Church. It was renamed Gracepoint in 2008 after the pastor of 20 years plead guilty to some sex crimes.
