Emerald Bay, including Fannette Island, is one of the most photographed locations around Lake Tahoe. Emerald Bay is a National Natural Landmark.
There are several info signs around. During the winter, the parking lot is closed but you can walk to the viewing area. SR89 is often closed in the winter due to the snow.
