The Church (Hram Spasa Preobrazhenia) was built in 1749-1755 at the place of an earlier wooden church.
In 1930 it was closed and used as a storage since then. In 1991 the church was returned back to Russian Orthodox Church, currently it is being actively used for worship.
The church opens only in the time of worship. See the worship schedule hanging at the fence.

The church website (in Russian) lists some interesting history of the place: according to the legend, it was here where in 1465 tsar Ivan the Third tore khan Ahmed's letter, stamped it to the ground and rejected to pay tribute to Golden Horde anymore.
