This benchmark is located along along U.S. Hwy. 20, about 7.0 miles southeast of Brothers. The benchmark is set in a rock about 50 feet north of highway centerline. The benchmark was set by the Oregon State Highway Department in 1927 and marked 39, elev. 4564. The boulder the benchmark is in has been moved, so for official use it is destroyed.

THIS MARK IS ABOUT 7.0 MILES SOUTHEAST ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 20 FROM BROTHERS, DESCHUTES COUNTY, SET IN THE TOP OF A ROCK NEAR THE FOOT OF DESCENT INTO HAMPTON VALLEY, 0.15 MILE WEST OF A ROAD LEADING SOUTH, 47.0 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 2.0 FEET SOUTHWEST OF A WHITE REFERENCE POST.
