The plaque is placed on the house where on May 12th 1945 U.S. General Brown met Soviet Lieutenant-General Tichonov and Major-General Masovcuk. They discussed the course of demarcation line between the victorious forces. The third party present was partisan leader General Sucharda.
The building where the plaque is placed on is situated at the mouth of the Písecká street to the Svobody square. Just next to the church.
The plaque says:
"V TÉTO BUDOVE se 12.5.1945 sešel zástupce armády USA gen. Brown se sovetskými veliteli gen. por. Tichonovem a gen. maj. Masovcukem, aby projednali prubeh demarkacní cáry mezi víteznými spojeneckými vojsky. Úcasten byl i velitel partyzánu gen. Sucharda.
Venovalo mesto Vodnany 12.5.1995"
Which means:
"IN THIS BUILDING on May 12th 1945 U.S. Army General Brown met Soviet Lieutenant-General Tichonov and Major-General Masovcuk, to discuss the progress of demarcation line between the victorious Allied armies. Involved was the commander of partisans General Sucharda.
Dedicated by the city of Vodnany, May 12th 1995"
