Bayou Terrebonne flows from just south of Thibodaux, LA to the Gulf of Mexico at Montegut, LA. The bayou is lined with shrimp trawlers and private crafts that travel up bayou to the houma area. These vertical lift bridges are the most effective to allow passage of these vessels.
