This time capsule was buried in 1977 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the town of Hallandale, Florida. Hallandale is a town on the southeast coast of the United States and is very tropical and still a rather new town.

On May 11, 1977, Hallandale celebrated its 50th year of existence by placing this time capsule at the town hall. It is located in the rear of the Hallandale City Hall complex, to the left of the curved walkway, on the way to the World War II memorial. The capsule is set to be opened on May 11, 2027, only 18 short years away. It was placed by the city of Hallandale.
