The Summit Fire District is the result of the merger between the Doney Park Fire District and the Timberline-Fernwood Fire District.

There are 118 square miles that are served by the new Summit Fire District. The district is located in the unincorporated areas of Doney Park, Timberline-Fernwood, Fort Valley, and Baderville which lie on the Northeast, and Northwest sides of the City of Flagstaff, Arizona. The District has a mutual aid agreement with the Flagstaff Fire Department. The district population is almost 10,000 residents and we will respond to approximately 1300 emergency calls during this year.
Summit Fire District has Five fire stations. Station 31 is located at 6425 Cosnino Road, Station 32 is at 8905 N. Koch Field Road, Station 33 is at 6050 E. Firehouse Lane off of North Highway 89, Station 36 is at 8015 Wing Mountan off north Highway 180 in Baderville, Station 37 is located at 5500 N. Fort Valley rd. directly off of north HIghway 180. All five stations are manned 24 hours a day with 2-3 man crews. We have 42 fulltime firefighters, 15 volunteers, 5 reserves 3 Battalion Chief's, 1 Fire Chief, 1 Assistant Chief and three business office personnel.
Station 33 offers a community room, and also has the SFD maintainence facility on site. Station 33 houses E-313, E-363 and T-323.
The Summit Fire Department supports a Wildland Division that is supported by the administration, career and volunteer firefighters. The department has a written contract with the Arizona State Land Department. Within this contract, the Summit Fire Department contracts out its wildland fire suppression vehicles along with a crew of wildland firefighters.
